My friend Susan recently interviewed me about blogging for RedWhiteYou, an online magazine run by her brother and his Christian friends in Ballarat. A great chance to do something I've been wanting to do: stop and reflect about the impact of blogging on my life. The interview will be published in early May, but I thought you might enjoy a sneak preview. Here's how it starts:Do you remember how you first discovered blogging? Now this will sound bizarre. I woke up one morning last October and thought, “I might start a blog!” I had never read a blog, and had very little idea what they were, but I knew I was interested in writing and encouraging people. I’d been thinking a lot about what my life and ministry would look like now we’ve probably had our last child, and dreaming about possibilities … start a women’s conference? start a training group? do some writing? … when the word “blog” upped and hit me in the face. What is the purpose of your blog?To encourage women in their Christian lives. To reflect on how God’s Word affects all the little and big ways we act, think and feel: when we wake up, how we clean the house, how we respond to exhaustion and discouragement. To be honest about how tough life can be, and how much I stuff things up. To show people – especially Christian women – they’re not alone in their sins and struggles. Banks. This is not part of the beloved Culture series. It's a space opera with a culture all its own, with aliens and worlds you can escape into. D. Fassin Taak, a Slow Seer at the Court of the Nasqueron Dwellers, will be fortunate if he makes it to the end of the year. The Nasqueron Dwellers inhabit a gas giant on the outskirts of the galaxy, in a system awaiting its wormhole connection to the rest of civilization. In the meantime, they are dismissed as decadents living in a state of highly developed barbarism, hoarding data without order, hunting their own young and fighting pointless formal wars. This is the part of Dickens' A Christmas Carol after Scrooge's conversion when he's trying to make amends. He tells his employee Bob Cratchit what he's planned and says,. we will discuss your affairs this very afternoon, over a Christmas bowl of smoking bishop, Bob!A perfect way to work out relationship problems, make restitution for past mistakes, and start a better way forward with someone, I think. Yes! Invite them to share a seasonal hot beverage. Smoking Bishop is described by Wikipedia as "a type of mulled wine, punch or wassail".

He and I grew up together. I was about a year and a half, and Jake was maybe a year when he wondered into our yard. He took to me like butter to popcorn, and I loved him from the very first. He was just a mutt. His long skinny legs, wide chest, floppy ears, big black eyes and cold nose made him my best-est pal in the whole world. I think he was my moms pal too. He always steered me around the puddles, and would pick up my gloves and mittens when I dropped them in the winter time, and when I got into something I shouldn't he would bark his head off until my mom came and got me. We ate everything together, except he ate my broccoli, cause I never liked the stuff, and a couple of times I tried his dog food, I didn't like the stuff either. We would share cookies and he always got half my cupcakes. Sanki hic duzelmeyecekmis, hep boyle devam edecekmis gibi geliyor ama sacma tabi. That warm spell was sure nice, it is long gone now and I miss the warmth. It was almost picnic weather and I had a hankering for Potato Salad. In fact I mentioned it as a possibility for Easter Dinner. Far Guy looked at me like I was nuts. I have a few new projects in the works and I spent one nice afternoon in the woodshop. It is warm in there on sunny days. I have a picnic table out there I suppose I could have my picnic there. Of course no new projects are finished. I suppose I should think about concentrating on one project at a time instead of many. I tried my hand at folding a Origami Basket. Although I am a paper hoarder person, I did not have Origami Paper…but the local Ben Franklin did. That's enough money for lunch at Zuni with Les Moonves. Sparrowhawk, St. leaves on the trees! It's like magic the way the trees go from pink and white blossoms to glorious green overnight! I'm loving it! For today's Frugal Round-up, I'm sharing some fun projects that remind me of summer. First up, a sneak-peek beach house tour shared by House by Holly. I especially love this little peek into the bathroom. Also present singing Chiffchaff and singing Coal Tit. A Red Underwing and a Vapourer moth were abroad. I'm headed south today to ring inthe new year far away from the crowdsand cold of Times Square. There will be friendsand family and sunshine and—who knows?—maybe even drinks with little umbrellas. An overall sickening stench that hit hard and brought tears to one’s eyes. I came awake with a scowl of wrinkled nose displeasure. I’m John,” the better than six feet, Grizzly Adams Jr. looked down on me with a lopsided grin. “Man! You just came up?” “Yeah, and I am so tired,” he lifted a leg to the three feet high table and sprung up into the top bunk with an agility that belied his bunk. I heard him collapse back with an exhausted sigh. I gave up the fight to grasp an unpolluted breath. As some of you have already guessed, I'm working on a new book. I'll be sure to give you the details soon and let you know when it will be available so you'll have plenty of time to collect a gazillion strips! In the meantime, I'll be showing you little sneak peeks of the projects. Like this one:A sea of red half-square triangle units waiting to be sewn together. "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. " - Maya Angelou But exactly the same thing will finally happen to all of us, whether we live right and respect God or sin and don't respect God. As long as we are alive, we still have hope…. So, I could try to work out all of my parental issues right here. My brother and I will take her to dinner along with other relatives on Friday night. Happy birthday, Mom! And to all of you mothers out there, I hope your day is every bit as happy as the day we are going to create for her. I added one new picture to Michael Kohlmann’s page in the brieflines archive. That’s it. Hey guys. Good morning. I added twelve new pics to Milos Raonic's page on the brieflines site. After lots of brainstorming I decided on a fun and simple handmade photo back drop full of layers of garland. Handmade photo booths and backdrops are all the rage, especially for weddings and events but you can use them for all kinds of photo opportunities. Creating a fun backdrop is SUPER easy and a great way to capture whimsical and fun photos! I used a large piece of pink canvas and started by painting and stamping garland onto the surface. I also used pieces of fabric and and glued them to the surface. Once the surface of the canvas was filled with garland I got to work creating real garland. All of the "real" garland got draped over the top of the painted canvas. The result is layers and layers of festive garland. Microsoft Sharepoint is a great architecture to leverage for this purpose. I had to use up the veggie's from my morning deconstructed omelet on toast and a veggie-piled pizza was just the trick. When you make it with care and time, from kneading the dough to crumbling the cheese on top—it fills you more. I could easily house four slices of flat, pizza house pie and not even remember eating it. But the homemade slices were so thick in veggies and pillowy dough one slice was plenty and the second piece was a battle I could only start to enjoy. This morning was just oatmeal. there is nothing more disheartening than the over-ness of Christmas. pulling down the decorations-first-rushing the season & then tossing it to the curb for pick up. with that in mind, celebrate a day longer than you planned-hold off a day on dissing Christmas-& to that end, today I wish you- “I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all year. ” Charles Dickensthis postcard from my collection-. Who else is simply exhausted from the US election last night? Holy moly I think I have stress knots now. Well its time to brighten everyone's week with some Inspiration Wednesday!! Woo woo! Here is my fun Pinterest find of the day: I adore book print paintings but the clocks and the yellow on this one really got me. I used this month's KOTM to create a fun card! I used Yolande's kit to create a semi bookprint layer down the card and colored the florals in with the yellows and greens.

I also added a fun layer at the bottom with a dotted scalloped edge and some green cardstock.

I stamped the green with one of the stamps from the Bohemian Basics set and finished the card off with some twine and a divided sentiment from the KOTM as well. I was playing around with some of my favorite store kits. I basically used the same layout design. pic. Great show pic. How?Glad you asked. MOTUS herself will explain: Here’s the thing: I want to continue to do my little part to help the RDC spread the truth. I’m kind of old fashioned that way. I know it’s blog whoring, butt I figure if the SS can do it, so can I. Like many alternative approaches CST can be useful as a preventative therapy to help keep us in optimal health. The types of problems we find people seek treatment for are very varied but may include stress and tension related disorders, musculoskeletal pain, migraines and headaches, brain and spinal cord injuries as well as many other acute and chronic conditions. People often think of CST as a treatment for babies and indeed parents often report that many typical newborn's problems improve and that they are more settled after treatment. Since CST is not prescriptive in its approach, we will always work by listening to and following what it feels your body tissues need to do, whatever the condition you may be experiencing.
